Bases for Log Cabins-

One thing we are asked quite a lot is what sort of base is required for Log Cabins. Well there are many types of base that are appropriate to put a Cabin on but what many people do not realise is the importance that the job is done properly. This not only applies for Log Cabins but any Garden Building you may be thinking about.

There are, as previously mentioned, many types of base you could put a Log Cabin on, these include Concrete, Timber Frame or Slabs, any of these will do fine (however on larger buildings we do recommend concrete).

Log Cabins are manufactured to fine tolerances to make the buildings strong so bases must be flat and level to allow the Cabin to be installed properly. A base that is not flat and level could cause problems either during or after install as it could make the Building twist putting windows and doors out of line and maybe exert stress on the joints.
