Roof Shingles For Log Cabins-

Why buy our Bitumen felt roof shingles:

Here at uklogcabinsuk we only sell top quality Felt roof shingles to our customers which we import in from the Baltic's.

Why import you may ask when we can buy shingles from most DIY stores inside the UK?

For one very good reason! the Baltic's make shingles which are usually thicker than there Uk cousins probably because in the Baltic's they have to be built to with stand harsher weather conditions, so we prefer to always use the thicker varieties so we can be confident that they can with stand whatever the good old British weather may throw at them.

Our felt roof shingles:

We mainly supply Hexagonal Shingles as they have a larger colour range, Colours include: Black, Red, Green, Brown and Grey.

However if you prefer we can also get the rectangle shape tiles in Black, Red and Green.

Our most Popular shingle:

Personally we think the Hexagonal shape tiles look stunning and most of our customers must agree as our Black Hexagonal tiles are the most popular we sell, probably because not only do they look stunning but black goes with any colour scheme that is chosen not only now but also in the future allowing customers to change the colour of their buildings without worrying about the roof.

The Eco Friendly aspect of Bitumen Felt shingles:

I bet you never realised how eco friendly using Felt shingles could be, not only does this light weight material mean that you don't have to use as much Timber to support your roof but because they are so much lighter than heavier concrete, clay or slate Tiles this makes them much greener to transport. Not forgetting their natural ability to insulate which will definitely help you to keep the heat inside meaning you will be using less energy, which is both friendly to the environment and to your wallet. (Which sounds good to me)

Sound proofing your Log cabin:

If peace and quite is important to you then Felt shingles can really help as they have a superior sound proofing ability compared to most over roofing materials, Bitumen felt shingles are great at absorbing the heavy pitter patter of Rain and hail.

History of shingles:

Stone, scale shaped shingles were originally used in the middle ages by Celts and the

Romans these were later replaced by Tree bark shingles. However in the 19th Century a new revolutionary material which was harvested from Petroleum called Bitumen was used, this method has proved to be so good that this is the material we use to make shingles today. Why? Because Bitumen is completely waterproof and untouchable by all weather conditions, the thicker the bitumen the better the protection, Bitumen can withstand polar weather to tropical weather conditions and because of it's highly adhesive properties when Installed properly not even heavy winds of effect our Bitumen friend, also we must not forget how nice Felt shingles look especially when compared to normal felt on the roll, there's really no contest Felt shingles win hands down.
